Happy Monday! :)

Book 3 in my Placida Pod series, Without Porpoise, is available from Siren-BookStrand:

http://www.bookstrand.com/without-porpoise

(Note: If you have a Kindle and don't want to wait the 4-6 weeks it takes a book to get there, you can buy straight from Siren-BookStrand and they'll send the .prc version directly to your device. Here are the instructions on how to do that.)

[Siren Everlasting Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, sex toys, HEA]

Sean Morita is settling in as Emery Nadel’s mate as the Samhain superpod grows near. They are helping with the preparations, but there’s still a murderous dolphin shifter on the loose, forcing everyone to take precautions. Emery’s dad will appoint him the new pod Alpha during the celebrations…as long as everything goes according to plan.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t. Erik’s still scheming to ruin Emery for rejecting him in favor of picking a human as his mate. He throws in his lot with a dangerous Mexican pod intent on taking over the Placida Pod as a way to smuggle drugs into the country.

Now Sean and Emery are faced with joining forces with their wide network of friends, as well as the dolphins’ natural enemies, to try to rescue their abducted fathers. Will they be able to keep their families and the pod from being cruelly ripped apart, or can they rescue the men before the pod is left Without Porpoise?

A Siren Erotic Romance

Tymber Dalton is a Siren-exclusive author.

[Siren Ménage Everlasting: Erotic Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, HEA]

Sarah's world shatters when her husband is killed in the wreck that injures her young son, Jason. Worse, Sarah discovers painful betrayals that make remaining in New York City with her hateful mother-in-law impossible. Moving home to Florida to live with her widowed father is their only option.

You can go home again, but it's not the home she remembers. The hunky next door neighbors are also her new employers, cousins Sam and Pete Hope. She went to school with the men, but they're all grown up. It's soon clear they have their sights set on winning her heart.

Unfortunately, her mother-in-law doesn't give up quite so easily. She's determined to get Sarah and Jason back to New York by any means necessary. Despite an escape-artist steer nicknamed Moodini, asshole ninja assassin pet goats, and learning how to love again, Sarah rebuilds her and Jason's lives and soon discovers that, just maybe, two Hopes can heal her heart better than one.

Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among cousins.

More "frankensteining" my fibromyalgia.

Sunday, October 20, 2013
I realized today that while I thought I'd put up a follow-up post about my current supplement regimen to help control my fibromyalgia symptoms, I hadn't.

*head/desk*

First, if you haven't read any of my previous posts about fibromyalgia, including me quitting Cymbalta cold-turkey last fall, you can find them all here.

Let me start by saying I am NOT a doctor. I am NOT saying that just because this is something working for me that you should immediately try it without researching it or talking to your physician. But because the state of health care in our supposedly advanced country is crap, and I know I, for one, cannot find insurance that will touch me (yes, I am TOTALLY in favor of Obamacare) I offer my experience up as reference if anyone else needs to look in similar directions.

For starters, I'm still not regretting quitting the Cymbalta. It had stopped working for me, and since getting off it, I've lost 20 pounds that I gained while on it.

My three prescriptions right now are:

  • 10 mg cyclobenzaprine (generic for Flexeril), I take at bedtime (helps with sleep)
  • .5 mg alprazolam (generic for Xanax) which was actually prescribed for flying anxiety, but I accidentally discovered it helps me if I'm in a bad flare. I don't know why, but it does. I only take it as needed, which means maybe once every couple of months.
  • 10mg/325mg Oxycodone/apap which is my "safety net" drug. Meaning when on a scale of 1-10 my pain levels hit a 37, I break down and take one. Fortunately, I have not had to take one since I screwed up my knee in January. I DESPISE taking them, because there's a 50/50 chance they'll make me puke, and I hate the way they make me feel. Meaning a prescription for 60 of them has lasted me longer than the expiration date on the bottle. LOL
My daily routine with supplements is as follows:
  • B-12 sublingual in the morning. (Jarrow Formulas Methyl B-12, 5,000 micrograms). Energy.
  • L-5-HTP 100mg at night. (Richard's WellCare Formulas, European L-5-HTP 100 mg). Take at bedtime with the Flexeril, really helps with sleep. (Note: If you are taking any kind of prescription medication that plays with serotonin levels, you MUST talk with your doctor. Too much can cause serotonin syndrome.)
  • Malic Acid with Magnesium. (KAL Malic Acid with Magnesium, 4 daily) This was recommended to me through someone in a fibro group I'm in. They are 4 horse pills, and it takes a few weeks to build up in the system sometimes and start working, so if you try it, don't give up after a couple of days. Some people report symptom improvement with a smaller dose, but play with it and see what works for you. 4 is the "daily serving" and seems to be what works for me. (If you have issues with kidney stones, you will want to be especially careful and talk to your physician about this.) I order it from LuckyVitamin.com (NAYY).
  • Lecithin, 1,200 mg. (NOW Lecithin 1,200 mg). I have noticed less brain fog since taking this.
  • Super Omega-3 Fish, Flax & Borage Oils. (Finest Nutrition Super Omega-3 Fish, Flax & Borage Oils.)
  • Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM (1,500mg Glucosamine, 200mg Chondroitin, 100mg MSM). I am still trying different brands of this, and sometimes the dosage varies a little depending on the manufacturer. Joint support.
  • Green Coffee Bean Extract GCA (Jarrow Formulas Green Coffee Bean Extract, 400 mg). Energy. I take this early in the day, usually with my other supplements, unless I forget to take them until after lunch, then I don't take it because it screws with my sleep.)
  • One-A-Day Women's, Active Metabolism (multivitamin).

I was also taking a D supplement but have discontinued it for now because I didn't notice much difference with it. Also, as I said in an earlier post, I'm not taking a multi-B supplement because of my multi-vitamin and the B-12. So far, that seems to be working for me.

I also take C and Echinacea as needed. I use herbal teas like chamomile at night.

Something else that has helped me is fire cupping (which is actually an ancient Eastern medical practice, not just a kinky one LOL). It's like getting a really great hot rock massage in reverse, and I've used it before to break up really bad fibro knots I get in my shoulders. Of course, I've found a good slow impact play session releases boatloads of endorphins into my system and helps with pain relief in that way, too.

Another thing I've started looking into is myofascial trigger points and pain, because many fibro sufferers actually have active and severe pain trigger points. Several great books and tools from Amazon on that.

I also use aromatherapy in the form of essential oils. Have a lot of great results with rosemary, peppermint, and lemongrass. Some people also like lavender, but I'm not really a fan of that one as much for some reason. *shrug*

Found this graphic on Facebook.

Exercise: When I can get to the gym and spend time in the pool doing slow laps and water walking, that helps as well. As does time in their hot tub and the dry sauna. And even just slow stretching really helps out with me.

As for diet, cutting out a lot of processed foods seems to have helped as well. (Hubby is becoming an AMAZING cook and really does a great job with that.)

Again, RESEARCH. Because fibromyalgia is a syndrome of symptoms with multiple possible causes, there IS NO one right answer for everyone. What works for some might not work for others (or might even be harmful). Talk with your physician and do your research on supplements/herbals before trying any. Also, make SURE to talk with your pharmacist with a list of EVERYTHING you're taking (herbal, supplements, and prescriptions) in your hand so they can check for drug interactions.

I hope this list helps you on your quest for symptom management.

Namaste, peeps.

Next giveaway: Shake it up, baby!

EDIT: The giveaway is now CLOSED...winners are posted HERE.

****

Okay, I promised you all more giveaways, and here's the next one. Yes, when I went to Tarpon on Wednesday, I found these guys as well. (There will also be coffee mugs and various stuff given away over the next couple of weeks.) And I got more of the black and white ones, too, so I'll be giving more of those away. (Perk of living in a touristy area is the ability to find neat stuff like this without breaking the bank. LOL)

If you entered the last giveaway, make sure you checked to see if you're a winnah.

The next installment of my Placida Pod series, Without Porpoise, releases on 10/28 from Siren-BookStrand and is available for pre-order now. Just in time, because it's also set right before Samhain. :) (Got to love it when things just work out like that. *smile*)

So you know the drill. I'll pick the winners from the comments (after removing spam or duplicates) by using random.org's number generator.

I'll pick six winners: one will get these cuties, the other five will get swag envelopes. One entry per person. Open world-wide, void where prohibited, must be of legal age, yadda-yadda TEH LEGALZ!

Remember, if Google/Blogger wants to make you "anonymous" leave a name or email addy or something in the comment so I can distinguish you from everyone else. Yes, even if you played/won in the last one, you can play again. :)

All you have to do is comment. :) Say hi, ask me a question, whatever. I'll pick the winners on Tuesday, 10/22. Good luck!

If you haven't read the first two books, Accidentally on Porpoise and Porpoiseful Intent, they're available in e-book format from Siren-BookStrand, Kindle, Nook, etc. and they're combined as one print volume if you prefer that format.

EDIT: The winners are posted here. Congrats to everyone, and I'll be posting another giveaway in the next day or two, so stay tuned!

Yes, I like puns. *shrugs*

Normally when I have the random giveaways, I put up the screaming cats picture. Today, I'm putting up a pic of one of the things I'm giving away. It's a neat salt and pepper shaker set. Dolphins, because my Placida Pod series is primarily about dolphin shifters (although Wyatt and the other alligators are quickly becoming bigger players).

The next installment of my Placida Pod series, Without Porpoise, releases on 10/28 from Siren-BookStrand. Just in time, because it's also set right before Samhain. :) (Got to love it when things just work out like that. *smile*)

Why I hate bullies.

Saturday, October 12, 2013
So the events of the past 24 hours have been fun. LOL ("I do not think that word means what you think it means." LOL)

Let me start by saying that one of the parties is now claiming they had nothing to do with this whole scenario. That they've tried repeatedly to get in touch with me and clear this up. Well, funny, I haven't received any emails from them at all. (Yet the bully was able to email me? Hmm.) If they want to email me, deets are on my contact page. Nothing secret about that.

So, here is an open message to that person. If you are really genuine in wanting to "clear the air" about this, then send me an email. Let's talk. Here is why I've made the statements I did about you:

You say you were only on our group for a day. No, you were a member longer than that, and then after being banned after being warned about your behavior, you tried to rejoin using multiple personalities (which you admitted you had). And quite a few people have contacted the admins of our group saying you had friended them under multiple personalities, and used those to add them to the copycat group, in some cases re-adding them with one of the alternate personas if they forgot to check the "prevent someone from this group from readding me" box. Our admins have also received complaints about you soliciting money via emails and PMs. And this happened in not one, but TWO groups I run.

I personally have received several messages from people who said they had to block you well before all this started for spammy behavior.

Not spammy? If you don't think that's spammy behavior, then you really do need to take a step back and go back to social media school.

But, again, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. My email's listed on my Contact page. Shoot me an email. Open a dialog. I have received ZERO emails from you asking to clear this up, despite what you said on your Facebook page. Explain to me how your behavior isn't spammy. I'm a reasonable person. You really want to clear this up? Then let's talk. If you aren't the person who sent the threatening emails to me, email me and let's clear this up. If you are innocent, I will be more than happy to make a public statement to that effect.

Why don't I tolerate bullies?

I started the BDSM Bibliophreaks group to be a community. Not a place to pimp books, but a place for readers and writers to come together to discuss the BDSM lifestyle and books related to it. It's always gratifying to me when someone tells me that being in our group, and being able to ask questions in a judgment-free atmosphere has helped them in real life.

THAT'S the lifeblood of our group.

Then people who get pissed off that they got bounced out of our group for violations of our policies (and after multiple complaints to the admins from our members about them) decide they want to "screw" with our group.

I go momma bear over that. I am very protective of our members. Had they simply created their copycat group and done their thing, whatever. But they spam-added members from our group.

I am no stranger to bullies. I spent several years as a lay counselor to people recovering from abusive relationships. But even more important, there's something I don't talk about a lot.

I was a victim of a crime when I was 18. The man was a couple of years older than me and a fellow student in one of my classes in college, and when I said no, he didn't stop. When I threatened to go to the cops, he threatened to kill my family's dogs. At the time I was young, naive, and completely believed him. He knew where I lived and could have easily done it.

That I didn't press charges haunts me to this day. I can only hope he didn't prey on others, and that guilt haunts me.

I'm no longer that terrified 18 year-old. So when someone sends me a threat, regardless of if they simply think they're "screwing" with me or people I feel protective of? I treat it seriously.

I don't let it go unchallenged.

Had the people behind this simply left our members alone, this would have died off. But then some mental midget had to send out threatening email messages (and apparently they're not up on the latest cyberstalking laws in our post-911 society).

I am very protective of the people who placed their trust in us in the BDSM Bibliophreaks group. Because some of those people don't HAVE any other place they feel safe discussing the lifestyle or asking questions.

Back down, to some anonymous coward on the internet? I don't think so. I'm sure the person who sent me the emails thought it would send me running for cover. But the exact opposite happened. So I will do what my home state is already notorious for: I will stand my ground.

Love and light, peeps. To everyone who's sent me messages of support, thank you, I <3 you all!

Oh, goodie. I now have a cyberstalker.

Friday, October 11, 2013
So apparently I've "made" it since I've pissed off a couple of spammers. (EDIT: I've added a second message they've sent me.) What's even stupider? I HAD been planning on letting it die down now that we had notified our members. But now that I'm getting email threats, including (see below) a threat to burn down my house, law enforcement WILL be involved in this. (I will post updates.)

SECOND UPDATE: A third message was received and added below.

Long story short, I run the BDSM Bibliophreaks group on Facebook. Well, we had a couple of people, spammers, who after giving them chances to adhere to the promo rules on that group, and after getting multiple complaints about them, we banned them from the group. One of them had multiple personas on Facebook, and had even complained before being banned from our group that Facebook had been shutting down their multiple personas. (And they tried to join our group with their mulitple personas.)

They then started a group on Facebook called "BDSM Bibliofreaks." Notice the similar spelling? In their "about" section they listed "selective censorship" as the reason they started it. Uh, well, if you call banning spammers from our group censorship, whatever.

Then they spam-added several HUNDRED people from our group into their group. That's when me and the other admins started getting LOTS of WTF kinds of PMs from members asking what was going on.

And yes, you can go to the membership list of the copycat group and see if a person was "added" by someone, or if they requested membership on their own. The two people who were the biggest culprits were also (surprise) the people we'd received numerous complaints about.

Now, those who know me, know that I don't tolerate spammers in my groups. And since it was obvious who the two culprits were, I named them.

So this started yesterday. And tonight I received this email, which I will be filing a police report about. (To the person who sent it, you didn't help the case of the person you think you're trying to help.) Apparently they think using a TOR server will help them stay hidden. Uh, guess they didn't hear about the FBI taking down the guy who ran Silk Road.

Why am I posting this? Because I'm going to give the person the benefit of the doubt that it's just a misguided fan who wrote the letter. And if so, they can post on their social media outlets that their "fan" needs to knock it off because law enforcement is getting involved. This isn't a game. And the spammers who are guilty? It's obvious who they are. Simply troll through the member list and see all the people who were spam-added and the two names that crop up most often. Doesn't take a detective.

to me
your childish war with the other group is growing old.
you have also been attacking other parties who aren't
even involved in what's going on.
i strongly suggest you apologize to the people you have
attacked, and you move on. you are now dealing with
people who can find many, many ways to entertain
you. you will grow tired of it long before we do, i promise.

tymber dalton. that's not your real name though, is it?
yes, your real name is out there, and your address, but
that's not the point i'm getting at. have you ever read
facebook policies? you know, the ones you are so quick
to accuse others of breaking? did you know it's against
facebook policy to use an alias? sorry to say, legal name is
all that's permitted. guess what facebook will do if and
when they find out you're not using your real name?
what about the members of biblio? many of them being
authors, how many of them are using a made-up name
too?
i'd hate to see what will happen when facebook
starts to get reports that these people have fake names.
they will start closing accounts. oh and we will make sure
they know that YOU had the chance to prevent it.
and that will just be the beginning. how about a barrage
of one star reviews? blog entries all over the place? and
that's just what can happen online.
knock your crap off. apologize for your sins. maybe
even step down as the admin of biblio, because we can
all plainly see that you have no clue how to run a group.
oh and we already have all the names and addresses from
biblio saved, so hiding the group won't help.
you have 24 hours to make this right, or hell is going to break
loose, and it is not going to be pretty. i offer you this one
chance to set things right.

we didnt say pseudonyms are ILLEGAL. they ARE however
a violation of facebook policy. you are required to use
your REAL name. because you obviously are not taking
this matter seriously, i'm going to report one of your
friends as a fake/fictitious name, to show you what i mean.
law enforcement? because someone threatened to
report you to facebook in an argument over a bdsm
chat group? yeah, i'm sure they'll get RIGHT on that.
well, forward this to them too:
i hope nobody comes to the tampa area and sets any
homes on fire.
i ask you one more time. do you really want to
start something? NOBODY will win this, i promise

you're not too bright are you?

people are threatening to burn down your house?

"i hope nobody comes to the tampa area and sets any
homes on fire. "

good luck with arguing that in a court of law.

seriously. remove yourself as group admin, and this all ends.

Heads-up, self-pubbed smut writers: Amazon's deleting content again.

Wednesday, October 2, 2013
Yes, Amazon is a business, and as such is perfectly within their rights to delete content.

Again, it goes to HOW they're deciding to delete such content, without giving prior notice or without clarifying their "acceptable content" rules, that really sucks. (Again, please don't scream censorship. They're a company and can do what they want. Does it suck? Yes. Is it censorship? No, because only governments can enact "censorship" by legal definition.)

Feel free to spread this story. I suspect if Amazon's going on a tear, it'll be a HUGE boon for Smashwords, who I hear is trying to perfect their sending files to Kindle feature. If so, it'll be Amazon's loss (in income) and Smashwords' gain.

More Placida Pod on the way & a shiny new cover.

Two Placida Pod updates for you today. :)

First, I have a shiny new cover for Without Porpoise (Pladica Pod 3), which is coming 10/28 from Siren-BookStrand.

Blurb:

Sean is settling in as Emery’s mate as the Samhain superpod grows near.

And... *drumroll*

I received the email from Siren today that they've accepted the fourth book in the series, Porpoisefully Yours, and will be publishing it sometime in November. So stay tuned for more information on that. Book four will overlap a little with book six in my Triple Trouble series (coming soon), and there will be a fifth book in the Placida Pod series that covers Wyatt's story and deals with an event that happens "off-stage" between books three and four.

If you haven't read the first two books yet, they're available in e-book format, as well as in print. (The print version combines books 1 and 2 into one volume.)

Book 1 - Accidentally on Porpoise
Book 2 - Porpoiseful Intent
